Jay, known professionally as Capsun, is a UK-based music producer, sound creator, and entrepreneur. As a sound designer, he's known for creating original samples and compositions.
After developing as a producer for over a decade, he co-founded Capsun ProAudio in 2015. Capsun ProAudio is a boutique production and sound design company that creates original samples for music producers and sounds, presets, and music for the pro-audio industry’s leading software and hardware manufacturers. Capsun ProAudio was acquired by Splice in August 2018. Currently, he is Creative Director of music creation marketplace Splice.
Having identified the need for high-quality royalty-free vocals he co-founded 91Vocals in 2017 with vocalist and songwriter Kate Wild. 91Vocals is the leading provider of premium vocals, from chart-topping hooks and toplines to inspirational melodies and experimental tools.
Capsun continues to make music, write songs and advise across the music and audio industries, mentoring independent sample creators and labels, and providing strategic guidance for entrepreneurs.
Songs featuring Capsun samples have gained over a billion streams, with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Doja Cat, Logic, Kehlani, Stormzy, Fraser T. Smith, Dave & many more. His original sample and music libraries are used daily by Grammy award-winning producers, leading electronic musicians, and underground beatmakers alike.
